I have raised a large family, spent many years in Africa and the Middle East and I have worked in as diverse contexts as social work, orphanages, teaching, spiritual direction to life coaching and counselling cross-culturally.
The broad experience of encountering people and situations utterly other than my own has given me a rich experience, deep sensitivity to the vastness of human experience and need, both socially, relationally and individually.
My journey has taken me through a degree in psychology, to a Master's in Social Work, courses in Transactional Analysis and Person-centred therapy, Trauma therapy courses, to an integrative diploma in counselling and psychotherapy.
I am fascinated by the interplay of neuroscience, psychology and spirituality and have an interest personally and academically in the area of spiritual abuse. I continue to read extensively and widely in these areas seeking to inform my current therapeutic practice using psychoeducation in my work to empower people in their own transformation.
One of my greatest strengths comes from lived experience of personal transformation. I have experienced many transitions and traumas in life and had people walk compassionately with me to a place of thriving and secure attachment. Therefore, I have a particular interest in trauma informed therapy and attachment-based practices that move at a gentle and client centred pace.
